Had a fabulous night on New Year's Eve. Ate late and then, along with thousands of others, went to the beach and had a few beers and saw the new year in with a firework display that went for miles along the beach. They were still going off in places at well into the early hours.
As with so many things here there was no attempt at creating a safe environment, and there were big fireworks exploding on the ground within feet of spectators. I didn't see anyone get hurt, but I am sure somebody will have been.
